Professional Film Education for All Ages

At LaGrange Film Academy, students gain hands-on experience in acting and filmmaking through professional-level instruction in a supportive and creative environment. Whether you’re stepping in front of the camera for the first time, a seasoned actor, or exploring the art of filmmaking, our classes are designed to build confidence, creativity, storytelling skills, and real-world production knowledge.

Led by award-winning filmmaker Krista O’Connor, our programs combine industry experience with practical training for kids, teens, and adults right here in Troup County. Students learn by doing, through scene work, on-camera exercises, collaborative projects, and real filmmaking techniques used in today’s film industry.

On-Camera Acting for Kids

Thursdays | $110/month

This exciting weekly class introduces young actors to the world of film and television performance in a fun, supportive, and confidence-building environment. Students learn the fundamentals of on-camera acting including scene study, improvisation, character development, audition techniques, script analysis, and camera awareness.

Through hands-on exercises and filmed performances, students develop communication skills, creativity, confidence, teamwork, and stage presence while learning how professional actors work on set.

Perfect for beginners and aspiring young performers alike.

On-Camera Acting for Adults

Tuesdays | $145/month

Whether you’re pursuing acting professionally, exploring creativity, or stepping outside your comfort zone, this class provides practical training in film and television acting for adults of all experience levels.

Students will work on:
• On-camera performance
• Scene study
• Character development
• Improvisation
• Script analysis
• Audition and self-tape techniques
• Camera confidence and presence

This supportive and professional environment helps actors build confidence, strengthen performance skills, and gain real insight into the film industry from a director, producer. & editor’s perspective.

Filmmaking track program

6-Week Course | $399 per course

Learn the foundations of filmmaking through this hands-on six-week course designed for aspiring filmmakers, content creators, and storytellers.

Students will explore the filmmaking process from concept to screen while learning:
• Story development
• Directing fundamentals
• Camera operation
• Cinematography basics
• Lighting techniques
• Sound recording
• Production planning
• Editing fundamentals
• Working on a film set

This course combines creative storytelling with practical production experience and gives students the opportunity to collaborate on filmed exercises and projects throughout the program.

No prior experience required. Meets weekly. Ages 13+

FILMMAKING TRACK REQUIREMENT

Intro to Filmmaking Required

All students entering the Filmmaking Track Program must complete Intro to Filmmaking before enrolling in advanced filmmaking courses.

Students with prior college-level filmmaking coursework or equivalent production training may request placement approval.

This foundational course ensures all students develop a shared understanding of:

  • storytelling

  • production workflow

  • set etiquette

  • filmmaking terminology

  • collaborative production practices

before progressing into specialized filmmaking departments.

DISCOUNTS & FEES:

An annual registration fee of $35 per student applies, with a maximum family annual registration fee of $50.

Families enrolling multiple students will receive 10% off tuition for each additional student enrolled.

Students enrolled in multiple classes will receive a multi-class discount of $20 off each additional class.

Active Lafayette Society for Performing Arts (LSPA) students receive 20% off tuition.
